I love people and I love hearing their stories
The #EverydayPeople project is about connecting with people on the streets by capturing their portraits and listening to their stories.
The idea came to life when I returned to London after living in Ibiza for four years. Upon my return, I fell in love with the city all over again. It felt like I was seeing everything through fresh eyes: the diversity of faces, cultures, fashion, food, music, sounds, architecture, and even the agriculture.
What I once took for granted felt vibrant and beautiful, and I felt like a tourist in a place that I once call home. Having lived away, I realized how fortunate I was to be part of such a dynamic city and culture.
That’s when the #EverydayPeople project was born.
I wanted to connect with the incredible people who crossed my path and share those moments with you, so I grabbed my camera and started asking strangers for their portraits and drumming up conversations. I was so surprised at how people reacted in such a positive manner. After doing my first 20 portraits, I was only rejected by only 2 people, which of course is totally fine.
London often carries a reputation for being cold and unfriendly, but I hope this project helps change this perception. It shows that even a simple “hello” can create meaningful and beautiful connections.
